Frankenstein

I had a coupon for a free specialty coffee drink from the new Sheetz gas station here in L-burg. Not just the cappuccino from the machine, a true espresso drink similar to what you get at a real coffee shop. I enjoyed my Hazelnut White Mocha!!!!!!!!!! Very sweet and not really tasting like coffee - just the way I like it!

I let Lily play with my cup. She helped herself to the last couple of drops which were very sticky. She got the mess in her hair. She had pigtails in, so when I took them out . . . Well, It made them stand up even worse than normal!

Wheeeee!

That is what Lily said this afternoon when I put her in her newly "turned around" carseat as soon as we started moving. For the last 7 1/2 months, she has only been able to see the backseat of the car. She seemed in awe of all the new sights. I called the police department and asked them about what to do about her. She is too tall to use the middle slat in the back seat, but didn't weigh enough to turn the seat around to forward-facing.

The officer that I spoke to in the traffic and safety department was great! He said that by 1p mths she has the neck strength to keep her head up in the event of an accident especially since she is soo close to 20 lbs. All kids heads will go forward in the event of an accident, but the biggest problem is that young infants don't have the neck strength to pull their heads back up after the impact. This cuts off their air supply and they then could suffocate before someone can help them bring their head back up.

New Book

A new book about adoption has been written. Here is a link where it is being read by Amy Tan. The author did a beautiful job! Illustrator too!

Lily's Giraffe

She thought her giraffe from her animal train would be a good riding toy. I couldn't hardly stop laughing as I watched her try to ride her poor little giraffe!

Christmas Decorations

We got out a few Christmas decorations Sunday night. We aren't putting up a big tree this year, because I am not prepared to tell her "no" every 2 seconds. We have a table top tree and a few decorations that she can touch. She is enjoying the stuffed "what we think is a frog"!

Ice Skating

We went ice skating back a few weeks ago and I never posted pictures. Steve held her most of the time, but I persuaded him to put skates on her. They were WAY too big, but they worked. We actually got her to stand without support once. I told him that we couldn't let the daughter of a Canadian not at least put on her skates.

Lily's Day in Church

I just listened to the sermon where our pastor used Lily as an illustration of the salvation message. Here is the link if you would like to listen. You can either download an mp3 file or listening to the streaming audio directly from the webpage. The message was preached on 10/21/07. http://lynchburgnaz.com/AudioSermon.htm Enjoy!
